談翻譯及學英語

上次我在此壇替某君翻譯了一段文字，引來了很多的回帖，我很高興，因為只要大家熱心的參與，不壇就會興盛起來．

我翻譯的好壞並不重要，因為我做的是impromptu translation，自知有缺點．我不是一些所謂專家，成天埋頭在圖書館或是書房裡搞翻譯的那種，為了翻幾個句子，翻遍字典．我沒有這種耐心，感覺上也沒這個必要．

上世紀初，中國＂翻譯＂一字，包涵太廣，他把今天的translation  和interpretation都包含進去了，其實這是兩碼子事，前者就是我前面所說的，書房或圖書館埋頭苦翻參考書型的，是古典派的翻譯．後者卻是新潮流的，是國際接觸頻繁所產生的．是同傳兼翻譯．它講究的是速度，簡單，和是時效．

上個世紀的翻譯名人如嚴復，辜鴻銘，等人可以說是翻譯方面的宗師，但拿他們來作今日的同傳，我想他們不能勝任．筆者舉一個經歷來談談，當年在校讀書時，教我英語讀本的是一個副教授，他的文法講授不止全校有名，而且市中眾多的補習班爭相聘請去任教．有一天在他講課時，校長帶來了一個英國修女，修女講的是英語說是要對學生家庭發放牛奶及麵粉甚麼的，要請副教授當個即時翻譯，那位副教授與修女面對面良久，只聽到修女嘰嘰瓜瓜的，但副教授卻不發一言，面紅耳赤，後來還是校長發現端宜，將修女及副教授帶出教室．後來聽說是不能溝通！

為甚麼不能溝通，就是說副教授既聽不懂修女所說，也講不出甚麼來．
這就是中國老一代所謂英語名家的通病！這種事例甚多，證明了一件事，過去中國的英語教育是失敗的．而今這樣的老師還是不少，Taiwan　似乎更多．

要是有人問我，你要想做一個不會聽，不會說，而只會成天翻書本，而能譯出美好的文字翻譯，或是做一個會聽，會說，能隨時寫上三五段落，而稍帶缺陷的翻譯時，我會說我喜歡做後者．因為後者能帶給我生活上的許多方便．我認為前者的翻譯方式已經落伍了．再者，想寫一篇沒有文法錯誤的文字並不難，只要在Microsoft Word 上寫，寫好了讓　Word 來改正文法就行！

語言學家認為，作為一個不是英語國家土生土長的＂外國人＂，要想學到跟土生土長的當地人一樣好的語言，是不可能的．譬如現在有很多的外國人，說及寫中文都很好，因為他們在中國呆了很久，學了很久中文，猛一聽，幾乎和道地的中國人一樣，但當你和他仔細的談論，或是談到深噢之處，你會發現，他仍然不如土生土長的中國人說的中國話道地．

也許有人會問，那麼不是土生土長的人就不能學好英語喏，不然，非英國美國人仍然可以學好英文，只是要看你如何定義＂好的英文＂．語言學家認為好的英語是一種結構簡單，易懂，不犯嚴重文法錯誤的就是好的英語，所以不要被那些教英語的外國人愚弄叻．也不要想學所謂道道地地的英語．因為並無所謂道道地地的英語．

試想，印度人說英語，菲律賓說英語，噢洲人說英語，加拿大人說英語，還有很多地方的人都說英語，他們能說得出道地的英語來？所以未來的標準英語就是簡單，易懂，沒有重大錯誤的英語就是好的英語．

中國式的英語Chinglish也是有很大的前途的，因為中國人口多，當講英語的人多，它就形成一種趨勢，加上日漸強大的國力，你不贊同都不行！君不見最近兩年的encyclopedia 收羅的中式英語愈來愈多嗎！

I have read some of your writing, too many errors: spelling, wording, grammar, among others. Your big problem is your attitude. You don' t know what you are talking about, neither do others. What you need badly is shut up and work hard.

He is a scamp, an anti China activist. What he keeps stinging on me is nothing about English but "Politics." I am a target of  台獨，藏獨，疆獨，民運，以及發輪功等，because I have posted hundreds of articles to point out their conspiracy toward China, so, they follow me wherever I am.
And I have told the guy 66.214.x.x. that I wouldn't succumb to any China betrayers.

不過你也太客氣了,應該用bastard,asshole,或者motherfucker.

1.Your Chinese is almost as poor as your English-----Zang, not "Zong".
2." What he keeps....." should be "Why he keeps......"
3.You need to learn to be appreciative. Having people here to cerrect your mistakes  is good for you. Grow up.

Your English is only at the junior high level. probably you learnt it from the US or other countries. You can probably talk well in simple daily conversation, but nothing more.
If you don't agree, why not translate my post  with the thesis " On Translation and How to Learn English" on the top of the forum page into English and let every one here see it! I think you may not know Chinese at all.
You'd better shut up from now on, and don't harass people here. The more you talk, the more stupidity you exspose!.

You call yourself "a gentleman". Are you sure you that you are a man? That's definitely a girl on the picture. I thought you were a woman. Oh, maybe you are a trans. No big deal, whatever you are, I don't care, all right to me. I haven't harassed no people here. I learned a lot here from someone like "shanren", "xin2005xin", etc. They are learned, well versed in Englis, not like you. I did nothing but pointed out some obvious mistakes in your poor writing. You should have thanked me for that. I don't know who you are, and I don't bother to know. Let me tell you: you are not PEOPLE, you are you.

太主觀，說的不對。
學一切都是為了實用。而不是為了十全十美。
以你看來，一個人。如果不達到數學博士的水平，最好就連一加一等於二都不懂？
當然有地道的英語。一種是好的書本英語。你寫在報紙上就應該這樣寫。
一種是好的日常口語。和朋友，家人說話就是這種 口語。
