中國人是智商最高的人種？

　　近日一則「英國研究者聲稱中國人是智商最高的人種」的報道在國內媒體上流傳，讓一些國人的虛榮心得到了極大的滿足，似乎「中國人最聰明」的說法獲得了國際承認。

　　做出這項研究的是北愛爾蘭阿爾斯特大學退休教授理查德

林恩曾經引用過一項對非洲黑人進行智力測試的研究結果。但是這項研究的研究者卻認為，非洲黑人的測試結果偏低並不能說明他們的智力低下，因為測試是用英語進行的，而大多數受試者的英語水平極其低下，使得某些試題實際上無用。而且該測試假定受試者熟悉電子設備、顯微鏡和西式女裝等文化產物，對非洲黑人不利。

智商測試是可以通過培訓而提高分數的，在某種程度上測的是一個人的應試能力。所以，如果東亞人的平均智商比較高，也許不過說明了他們的應試能力較強，

Are those tests in English or Chinese? If they are in English, why Chinese 應試能力 is better than people whose native language is English?

Usually, I tend to believe scientific data, politically correct or not.

In fact, few years ago, a Havard professor and his graduate assistance published a best seller book titled "The Bell Curve". They also concluded in the book that Chinese have higher IQ (about 5 points) than Americans. When Media asked what their point of view was different from Hitler's, one of them said "Hilter said his race was most supreme, but I didn't say mine."

My only concern probably is that the people tested may had been limited in the big cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xianggang...if the samples were drawn from the entire country, the test results may show differences.

有點道理。

So what? Look at the richest people in the world, the smartest people in the world, the most infuential people in the world, how many of them are chinese or asain? IQ is not everything.  Test like those have no significance in predicting the success of a race or a country. Hard working and a good system are the key.

Be optimistic: for 5000 years, we had only been outpaced sometimes, but the rest of the times we outpaced the rest of the world. The following I quoted from CIA. It's maybe better to see ourselves through other people's eyes.

To be an intelligent race doesn't grant everything but there is at least hopes.

As I said in other posts, wait for a few years to say this again. If you don't see the logic, think: what's your confidence when you say your above remarks in 1960s, 1970s, and what's your confidence you do so right now, in 21st century. Compare them. You know your confidence is dinimishing, and I have confidence to say it will continue to diminish till to zero.

History in my view has progressed circularly not straightly--"the empire long divided, must unite; long united, must divide."

I might think in English and have been reeducated in the west but some of my outlooks I choose not to be changed.

You are right, absolutely right, china is the superpower, is the richest country and because of smart chinese like you, China will for sure outpace everybody. United states and everybody else will go down very quickly. Yes, my confidence has already diminished till to zero. I rest my case.

By the way, I consider the researches I quoted above flawed. I stated in my first two postes.

You must think so, right? But to have 英國政府, or anybody else take you seriously, and listen to your opinion, you got to offer more than that. You got to have scientific research to back yourself up. Otherwise don't expect 英國政府 will do what Chinese government is apt to do. Personal opinion doesen't count much.

You are welcome to refute the English researcher's points, like 方舟子 did, that is at least a scientific way to do things, though 方舟子's thinking is flawed too.

Sometimes politics should be seperated from seicentific inquiry, which is called academic freedom.

I am more inclined to accept scientific data--not flawed--than political aganda.

Other posts merit a reply because they had, at least, done some thinking and therefore intellectually stimulating.

Yours I had thought some time. I don't want to be unwise as I did for another thread, therefore, let me quote a political joke as a reply, I hope you understand it.

古巴舉行盛大五一節游 行，喀斯特羅率黨和國家領導人全體出席，檢閱遊行隊伍。就在遊行隊伍通過主席台的時候，喀斯特羅同志突然發現人群中有一個人掏出一塊新手帕擦了擦鼻子，於是他馬上對身邊的一位政治局委員道：「我敢打賭，這個拿手帕擦鼻子的人裡面沒穿內褲！」委員馬上命令警衛把那個人叫道跟前，親自詢問，吃驚地發現，這人長褲裡面果然是光著的。委員敬佩地問領袖：「卡斯特羅同志，您是如何知道透過外衣看見他沒穿內褲的？」卡斯特羅回答：「我看見他掏出了新手帕，他的布票顯然沒用來買內褲嘛。」

看不出對這種命題的爭論有什麼意義。
