Big_Benz:
great deal of damage to your Lincoln. All electronics could be shorted out, for example. You should not have tried to start it up when the car is wet.
dashabi:

If water got into engine it was a serious problem
Gearmaster:
I assume that the water is not so deep to run into your carbin. So there should not any water damage to the engine, transmission and electrics.
It's very possible that water came into your exhaust pipe, muffer etc. Make sure rise your car front up to let some of the water run off it. Then start the car and run it hard to blow all the water out off it.
Remember, before you do that, check to make sure there IS NO water in your engine oil.
Good luck
