一份耕耘未必有一份收穫。種的不能是壞種子，土地不能是鹽鹼地，老天不能不下雨或者老下雨。還不能來土匪。

「不勞無獲」的譯法比較好。最準確的翻譯是「沒有痛苦就沒有收穫」。

有人把 Pain past is pleasure 翻譯成「過去的痛苦就是快樂。」我以為「逝去了的痛苦就是快樂 」的譯法比較好。

套用這句話，Flu past is immunity. 感冒痊癒后就是免疫力。每次感冒后，人能獲得短暫的免疫力。所以老不感冒的人要留神大感冒。

不好意思，我用「芝麻開門！」在網上搜了一下，找到一份漢語譯本，稍稍有些不同，可以和先生的譯文互補，現轉載如下：

i think the author meant more than the obvious conclusions here. Could he tell us a secret as how to become smarter than we were? suppose we could retain our curiocity about the world around as a child would do.

i think 「一份耕耘，一份收穫」 is okay. in conventional chinese thinking, it is equivalent to 「沒有耕耘，沒有收穫。」 although i was trained to apply rigorous logic in my thinking, speaking and writing, i know i can't ask others to do the same. this is because the chinese language never took a serious look at this important element of the western civilization until a little over a hundred years ago. many of our best authors paid little attention to grammar and logic, now and in the past.

Wrong translation.  The Chinese version does not make sense.  It is too far apart from the original meaning.

What is 「芝麻開門！」?

Winston Churchill was right when he said in 1947, "democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time." A system which prioritises immediate electoral congratulation over long-term strategic thinking is flawed. One which allows party donations to buy ministerial favour or attention is even more so.
But we need only look at Robert Mugabe or remember Archbishop Tutu's emotive declaration during South Africa's first free elections - "It's like falling in love" - to see how much better than the alternatives democracy really is.

If I can have both, I will enjoy both. However, if I can only choose one, I choose the former, because I don't eat well, and I don't have healthy body, How could I do the latter? No pain, no gain. Actually the translation is not the most important. The key is how you underdstand. As long as you think it is right and do the right thing. There is no free lunch under the sky. So remember, if you want to get something, you must make your effort. Some people pay more, some people pay less, experience makes  difference.Actually the amount is the same in total!!! Some get ready before, for sure she or he pay less when it happens, some aren't ready yet, of course he or she pay more when it happens.

Sorry, my husband told me his another thought about corn porridge and love. He says, " corn porridge is better than nothing, nothing is better than love, so corn porridge is better than love."  So my husband draws a conclution, corn porridge is better than love any time!! especially when you enjoy corn porridge with your lover, the corn porridge is more "delicious".
