F1 轉 F2 疑問

我第4年的Ph.D.在ohio (04-08)，老公第3年的Ph.D.在芝加哥。我就差論文沒寫完了，沒有找工作，現在想轉F2。我們學校的international advisor說F2 可以回來答辯，沒有問題。我想問一下可不可以如實在申請信里說我還需要繼續寫論文，希望早日回來答辯？還是說我Ph.D.已完成？另外申請信照如下寫可以嗎？多謝了。

To Whom It May Concern:
I am currently a fourth year Ph.D. student at Miami University. I am requesting a change of status from F1 to F2 because of the following reasons:
-        My husband and I are missing each other so much, so I want to join him.
-        I finished all courses and lab work and most part of my dissertation, so it is unnecessary for me to stay at Miami University.
-        My I-20 will expire on August 31, 2008.
-        I will not have financial support from Miami University any more.

My plans are:
-        Continue to write my dissertation and hope to have a defense in this fall. I will not register any courses or do any research work.
-        Accompany my husband finish his Ph.D. degree.
