《施氏食獅史》

《施氏食獅史》是一篇由趙元任所寫的設限文章。全文共九十二字（連標題九十七字），每字的普通話發音都是shi。

只用一個發音來敘述一件事，除了中文，恐怕是再無其他語言能做到了。

這篇短文都能看懂，可是如果你讀給別人聽，他是無論如何也聽不懂的！

《施氏吃獅子的故事》

石室里住著一位詩人姓施，愛吃獅子，決心要吃十隻獅子。

他常常去市場看獅子。

十點鐘，剛好有十隻獅子到了市場。

那時候，剛好施氏也到了市場。

他看見那十隻獅子，便放箭，把那十隻獅子殺死了。

他拾起那十隻獅子的屍體，帶到石室。

石室濕了水，施氏叫侍從把石室擦乾。

石室擦乾了，他才試試吃那十隻獅子。

吃的時候，才發現那十隻獅子，原來是十隻石頭的獅子屍體。

試試解釋這件事吧。

我的同事現在見到中國人都會shi,shi,shi,shi,shi問人家知道是什麼不,很多中國人都說不知道. 呵呵.

請N版有空翻譯一下英文呀~~!

One scholar Shi, who lives in a stone building, has a special taste in lion meat.  He claims he's going to eat ten of them.  Everyday, he wanders around the market and looks for lions. One day around 10 O'clock, 10 lions showed up.  Shi pulled the arrow and killed them all.  He dragged the bodies back to his house. It was too moist inside.  He had his maid clean up the place, so he could start enjoying the lion's meat.   However, just when he's ready for the treat, he realized the lions are all made of stones, and are not edible.

At ten o'clock, ten lions had just arrived at the market.
At that time, Shi had just arrived at the market.
He saw those ten lions, and using his trusty arrows, caused the ten lions to die.
He brought the corpses of the ten lions to the stone den.
The stone den was damp. He asked his servants to wipe it.
After the stone den was wiped, he tried to eat those ten lions.
When he ate, he realized that those ten lions were in fact ten stone lion corpses.
Try to explain this matter.

網上面查了一下, 實際上英文也有類似的現象.

         在這個句子中Buffalo有三個意思：１.布法羅市(n.)，２.水牛(n.)，３.動詞(v.) 有威脅、脅迫、使不知所措之意 (據說是很古老的用法)。因而，這個句子等價於：Bison (美洲或歐洲的野牛) from Buffalo [that] Bison from Buffalo bully (欺凌弱小者) bully Bison from Buffalo.

        類似的還有"Don』t trouble trouble until trouble troubles you"

漢字拉丁化，是給漢字進行注音的方法，從而易於中西方交流，或者代替漢字。有些人以為將漢字改造為字母文字，希望以此在短期內大幅增加中國人民的識字率。

中西方的交流很早就有了，而不同的文化交流需要語言的溝通，漢字拉丁化可以實現西方人對中國的了解。 近代以前，漢字的拉丁化基本由西方人進行。近代中國遭受了一系列的變故，徹底打破了中國固有的文化自豪感。中國近代的一些思想家認為中國古代的一些歷史遺留阻礙了中國的發展，包括孔子思想、禮教等，其中也包括漢字。

漢字由於其字數眾多，學習比較費勁，而且由於師承不同，字的具體寫法也有不同。近代科學大量引入中國，漢字在這些概念面前變得不夠使用，又由於新文化運動影響，漢字改革遂成為主流的社會思想。其中劉半農、魯迅等提倡尤甚。

最早的漢字拉丁化的實踐來自於中西方的交流，若要介紹中國的一些地名、人名或其他固有名詞到西方，必會涉及漢字拉丁化的問題。明清西方傳教士為了學習漢字和傳教的需要，開始系統用拉丁字母給漢字注音。1605年天主教耶穌會士、義大利人利瑪竇（Matteo Ricci）的《西字奇迹》具有開創性的系統化意義。1626年耶穌會士金尼閣出版的《西儒耳目資》是最早用音素給漢字注音的字彙，所用的拼音方案是利瑪竇方案的修正。

1867年，在英國使館任中文秘書的威妥瑪（Thomas F. Wade）出版了一部《語言自邇集》，創立了一個拉丁化的威妥瑪拼音，使用時間很長，對漢字的拉丁化起了重要作用，以後的方案都有參考。

1918年中華民國教育部公布第一套法定的37個民族字母形式的注音字母方案，特點是採用符號表示聲調，這雖然不是一種直接的拉丁化方案，但用符號表示聲調的方法卻延續到漢語拼音方案。

1928年中華民國教育部公布第一套法定的拉丁化拼音方案-國語羅馬字（簡稱國羅），特點是用字母的拼法來表示漢語的聲調，實際上由於流傳時間較短，時間起到的作用不大。1958年，中華人民共和國公布的第二套法定的拉丁化漢語拼音方案，使用了26個拉丁字母，用符號表示聲調，但是這種符號不易在西式打字機上實現。1980年代，漢語的信息化進入日程，形成「萬碼奔騰」的局面，漢語拼音方案作為重要的拼音輸入方法得到使用，使漢語較能同信息化接軌。

唐德剛在《胡適雜憶》論及漢字的拉丁化時，認為方塊字維繫了中華民族的統一：「我們有了方塊字， 教育愈普及，則民族愈團結；民族愈團結，則政治統一便愈容易推動。政治、文字、教育有其一致性，它也就限制了方言的過份發展。如今世界，四個人之中，便有一個是『炎黃子孫』，豈偶然哉？ 文藝復興以後的歐洲便適得其反。 他們教育愈發達，則方言愈流行；方言愈流行，則政治癒分裂。這就是今日白鬼種族繁多之所以然也。這也就是兩種不同文字『偶然』的發展，在人類社會發展史上所發生不同的『必然』後果！」（193頁）

漢字拉丁化有其政治的成分，也是一種社會思潮。他現在只是提供認識漢字，輸入漢字等的一種輔助手段，漢字的認同感提升以後，越發沒有改革的必要，當然也有不少人繼續研究。

此外，由於漢語的其中一特性為詞語多只有二三音節，當中多有同音異字。因此以拉丁字並音寫成的文章閱讀相對困難，閱讀的速度亦大幅下降。例如日文使用平假名、片假名並音，仍然需要使用漢字以增加文章的閱讀速度。加上電腦的使用，進一步減少漢字拉丁化的優點。

用拉丁字母注音，易於學習，現在中國的小學生基本依此來學習漢字的讀音。而國家也藉此進行了語音的統一。

但是，由於漢字在中國各個地區，乃至日本（日本漢字）韓國（韓國漢字）讀音都不相同，有人認為漢字實際上應該是一種語源文字，由於漢字拉丁化造成的，漢字方言讀音拉丁化，還有日韓的拉丁文漢字讀音，造成了很大的混亂。

漢語的英文譯法也基本依此，逐漸取代舊的英文拼法。

我說怎麼看一些台灣出版的古文版書籍不清楚他們到底是怎麼注音的. 現在終於有譜了,
