中國人和猶太人的統治思維不一樣，千百年來四處流竄的猶太人沒有祖國，沒有辦法獲得所在地區政府公職掌握軍隊，他們最能依靠的就是掌握法律，為自己所用，和進行經濟活動獲取最大的利潤。他們的聯繫是緊密的橫向的。而中國人很早就已經是統一的中央集權的中央大國了，中國官場文化抵制狐朋狗黨，中國社會的統治就像孔子的「儒」字，是上下分層的從上而下的統治. 而且中國一向是農業大國，人口是不怎麼流動的。可是改革開放以後中國不一樣了，在中國國內人口的流動頻繁了，在上海可以有來自全國各地的人在那兒工作，可以聽見各種口音，吃到各地的菜式。但人們互相聯絡的方式，還是以家庭和同鄉為主的，沒有什麼正式的組織. 因為大多數是在國內，基本上是在同樣的教育系統下，在同一個政府的宣傳下，同一個中華文化的環境里成長的，所以雖然有很多種族來自天南地北，文化價值差別並不是非常大。可是猶太人不一樣，他們所面對的是整個世界，我記得那年去以色列過逾越節，都是猶太人，可是長得卻是各種各樣的，什麼樣的種族都有，有白人金髮的，有非洲黑皮膚的，有中東的，還有亞洲人。就像前年我們去五台山，正好遇到他們是世界佛教大會，各種的宗教流派穿不同式樣的袈裟，帛袍，素帽. 在以色列過逾越節的猶太人，身上穿的衣服，頭上戴的帽子，頭髮的式樣，全都是不一樣的，看得我眼花繚亂的！

The Chinese and Jewish people have different ruling thoughts. The Jews who have been roaming for thousands of years have no motherland. There is no way to obtain the power of the local government, no military. The most reliable thing they can rely on is to master the law, protect themselves, and get the most profit out of economic activities. Their connections are close and horizontal. The Chinese have long been a unified central government power. The Chinese official culture has resisted the horizontal group party. The Chinese society is ruled like Confucius』s "Confucianism". It is the top-down rule of the upper and lower layers. And China has always been a big agricultural country, and the population is not very mobile. However, after the reform and opening up, China is different. In China, there are frequent population movements. In Shanghai, people from all over the country can work there. You can hear various accents and eat dishes from all over the country. But the way people communicate with each other is still based on family and fellowship, and there is no formal organization.  Because most of them are in China, basically under the same education system, under the same government propaganda, the same growing up Chinese cultural environment, so although there are many ethnics from the north to the south, the cultural values are not very different. But the Jews are different. They are facing the whole world. I remember going to Israel for the Passover that year, all Jewish, but the appearance were all sorts of, all kinds of races, white blondes, African black skin, Middle East, and Asian.  Just like the year before we went to Mount Wutai, we met them at the world Buddhist congregation. Various religious genres wore different styles of robes, robes, and bonnets. The Jews who celebrated the Passover in Israel, the clothes they wore, the hats on their head, the styles of the hair were all different, and I was dazzled!
