歐洲文化— 英國 （2）

英國人，男人，瘦瘦的！美國人可能從小營養好，又注重室外鍛煉運動，所以骨架大而且有肌肉！可是英國人有一種特別的black humor,到哪兒都是！我當時不見得聽得懂！二十年前去那兒，在英國北部一個火車站，一下車撲面而來的感覺，就是一個中世紀的火車站！英國人和德國人法國人不同，比較冷傲！剛來美國的時候我的導師對我說，法國人不熱情，如果你不說法語, 他們不會幫你！我還深深記得我在倫敦的經歷！當時我想去大英博物館，從地鐵站上來還有大概500米左右的路程，於是我就問在街邊擺書報攤的小販大英博物館怎麼走，他說不知道. 又去街邊藥房問，他們也說不知道！你可以想象，他們看見我一個中國女孩，居然不想告訴我大名鼎鼎的大英博物館怎麼走！現在應該不會了吧！

British, man, thin! Americans may be well nourished and pay attention to outdoor exercise, so their skeletons are big and have muscles! But the British have a special black humor, wherever they are! I didn't understand it then! Going there 20 years ago, at a railway station in the north of England, the feeling was of coming to a medieval train station! The British are different from the Germans, and they are cold and proud! When I first came to the United States, my mentor told me that the French were not enthusiastic. If you don't speak French, they won't help you! I still remember my experience in London! At that time, I wanted to go to the Great Britian Museum. It was about 500 meters away from the subway station. So I asked the hawker  on the street to tell medirection. He said that he didn』t know. I went to the street pharmacy to ask. They also said they didn't know! You can imagine that they saw me a Chinese girl and didn't want to tell me where the famous British Museum was! It should not be so now!

去了倫敦北面的牛津和劍橋. 非常喜歡那個大學城！那才叫歷史呢，比起哈佛和M IT，這才是高等學府. 光看建築就已經非常有歷史感，隨口報出一連串的名字，都是鼎鼎大名的舉足輕重的文豪, 科學家,哲學家，我的天哪！想起培根寫的那麼多文章, 曾經問過美國這邊的大學生，居然不知道培根是誰. 想起他寫的「論愛情」，「在所有偉大而又值得敬重的人當中（無論是古人還是今人，只要是人們還記得的）沒有一個是在戀愛中激動得發狂的; 可見偉大的人物與偉大的事業, 真能把這種軟弱的激情拒之門外. 無論是誰,只要他過於看重愛的感情，也就既放棄了財富也放棄了智慧. 夫婦之愛創造了人類，朋友之愛改善了人類, 但淫蕩的愛則腐蝕和貶低了人類。」

I went to Oxford and Cambridge in the north of London. I really like that university town! That is history. Compared to Harvard and M IT, this is the institution of higher learning. The building is already very historical, and a series of names are published, all of whom are famous and important writers, scientists, philosophers, Oh my god! I remembered so many articles written by Bacon. I once asked the college students in the United States who didn』t know who Bacon was. Think of the 「of love」 written by him. 「You may observe, that amongst all the great and worthy persons (whereof the memory remaineth, either ancient or recent) there is not one, that hath been transported to the mad degree of love: which shows that great spirits, and great business, do keep out this weak passion.  No matter who, as long as he cares too much the feelings, both gave up wealth and gave up wisdom. Nuptial love maketh mankind; friendly love perfecteth it; but wanton love corrupteth, and embaseth it.."

也許越是高層的人，越接近上帝！上帝的語言是數學，上帝不講感情！所以有人才「躲」起來的吧？  好象還有一位英國大文學家，忘了是不是漢米爾頓，跟一會比他大近30歲的婦人結婚了! 她的兒女還挺歡迎他的！所以法國部長不出格！我喜歡牛津校園內的那條河，我去的時候正好是陰雨綿綿的季節，校園裡沒有什麼人！草地綠瑩瑩的，柳樹綠絲絲的，看慣了美國這邊，在加州熾熱的陽光下蓬勃生長的綠草，再去看英國的在陰柔的陽光下，又被細雨滋潤的幽草，那種綠是那麼得奇怪. 無論在英國什麼地方，在西北邊的山林里，在城市的街道邊，在每一個鄉鎮教堂的後院里，那種綠都不是美國那樣張牙舞爪的綠，是缺少黃顏色的綠，是比較深幽的綠，是無精打採的綠！可就是這個綠跟那一灣親柔的河水，是那麼般配. 我在綿綿細雨中走過草地，越過小橋，感覺就像在富春江邊的小村莊里過清明節. 劍橋的河比較典雅，比較大氣. 整個園區的建築風格非常統一，沒有法國式的曲旋迴轉，沒有德國式的方正堅定，有哥特式的尖拱和細巧的雕花玻璃，瘦長的造型，有著宗教般的威嚴！

Perhaps the higher level the person is, the closer to God! The language of God is mathematics, and God does not talk about feelings! So someone "hides"?  There seems to be a British great writer who I forgot his name, maybe it was Hamilton, who married a woman who was nearly 30 years older! Her children welcomed him very much! So the French minister is not out of the box! I liked the river on the Oxford campus. When I went, it was just at rainy season. There was no one on campus! The grass is green and shady, and the willows are green and flow. I am used to American green grass that grows in the hot sun of California, and yet the British grass under the soft sun and the rain, its green is so strange. No matter where in the UK, in the mountains in the northwest, in the streets of the city, in the backyard of every town church, the green is not the aggressive green of the United States, it is lack of yellow color. The green is darker green and is listless green! But this green matched the soft river wave . I walked through the grass in the drizzle, crossed the bridge, and felt like the Qingming Festival in the small village on the Fuchun River. River in Cambridge  was more elegant and more atmospheric. The architectural style of the entire park was very uniform, there was no French-style whirlpool, there was no German-style Founder firm, Gothic arches and delicate carved glass, slim shape, religious majesty!

去了在威爾士的最西邊的，有最長名字的城鎮，那是星期六的晚上，整個城鎮死氣沉沉的，本來人口不多, 又是夏天，好多人都跑到歐洲大陸去了！周末店家都關門了，餐館只有中國餐館和印度餐館是開的！去了中國餐館，一問已經在這兒第三代了，把啤酒叫做bitter, 你說我怎麼聽得懂！心裡覺得很奇怪，英國是這麼大一個殖民地，有這麼豐富的皇家歷史和文化，吃的東西卻那麼單調！最好吃的是Fish and chips, 炸魚好吃是因為裹了麵粉油里炸出來的，什麼水煮魚, 什麼溜魚片, 什麼紅燒魚根本都沒有！可以看得出食物是不豐富的. 最記憶猶新的，在風雨天, 陰濕潮冷里能夠溫暖人心的, 是clam chowder. 第二天周日，沒有店家開門的，bus只有一班！我還記得做bus在英國西北的山區里行駛的經歷！英國西部的山裡沒有石頭, 卻有著一種特別的一層一層的黑石片！當地人用它來建房子! 大多數英國人其實是很 isolated 的, 按照上海人的話說, 是鄉下人，沒有見過市面, 沒有見過世界的，腦子裡是祖祖輩輩傳下來的價值觀.

I went to the westernmost part of Wales, the town with the longest name. It was Saturday night. The whole town was deadly quiet. It was originally a small population. It was summer. Many people went to the European continent! At weekend stores were all closed, and only Chinese restaurants and Indian restaurants were open! I went to a Chinese restaurant and the owner was the third generation there. They called beer 「bitter」. You said how could I understand it! I felt very strange in my heart.  United Kingdom had such a large colony, with such a rich royal history and culture, yet the food is so monotonous! The best thing to eat is Fish and chips. The fried fish is delicious because it is fried in the flour oil,  youwould make boiled fish,  fish fillets, and soy sauce fish, no, none! It can be seen that British food culture was not rich. The most memorable, in the rainy days, the wet and cold, can warm people's hearts, is clam chowder. The next day Sunday, no store opened, bus only had one tour! I still remember the experience of bus driving in the mountains of northwest England! There were no stones in the mountains of the western United Kingdom, but there was a special layer of black stone! The locals used it to build a house! Most Britains are actually very isolated. According to the Shanghainese, it is a countryman who has never seen the world, has no vision, and only has the values that have been passed down from generation to generation.

英國西部的公路很窄，而他們的公車又開的很快，也許他們太熟悉了. 可是我坐在車裡隨著車子左轉右拐，心也在嗓子口快蹦出來了！那邊山坡上看到的基本上都是羊群，很少牛馬，不像在荷蘭丹麥一群群的奶牛！烤羊排其實沒有後來藏族的烤全羊好吃！英國人比較喜歡瘦瘦高高的，你看英國國會大樓的造型，你看連公車都有兩層. 很喜歡西敏寺大教堂，更喜歡大英博物館里看不完的寶貝！心裡想，英國是一個島國，一個不怎麼大的島國，可是卻有輝煌的歷史，曾經被稱做日不落帝國！記得爸爸一個字一個字告訴我，日不落意味著到哪裡都可以看見他們的米字旗！在加拿大的渡輪上你還看得見女王照片，在所有曾經是英國殖民地的國家國旗上，也看得見那個米字象徵！一個國家的富強不是靠人口，是靠頭腦，還有頭腦轉化成的科技和人文能力！ 西方文化不會把利器藏起來，所以如果在軍事上能夠打敗他，他立馬服你！不像中國滔光隱晦. 所以打要打得狠才行！歐洲人比美國人老奸巨猾多了，根深啊，毒癮久啊！要留一點口子，讓他們把惡氣發掉，就像某些北歐國家，晚間可以放色情電影，以減低強姦犯罪率一樣！個人意見.

The roads in the west of England are very narrow, and their buses are very fast. Maybe they are too familiar with theroads. But I am sitting in the bus, and turning left and right with the it, my heart was almost coming out at the mouth! The sheep that are seen on the hillside are basically flocks, very few horses and cows, unlike the herd of cows in the Netherlands and Denmark! The roasted lamb chops were actually not as delicious as the Tibetan roast whole sheep! The British prefer thin and tall. You look at the shape of the British Parliament building. You see that there are two floors on the bus. I like the Westminster Abbey and I like the exhibitions I couldn't finish in the British Museum! I thought that the United Kingdom is an island country, a small island country, but it has a glorious history. It used to be called sunnever set empire! I remember that my father told me one word at a time, and sun never set meant that you could see their  flag everywhere! You can also see the Queen's photo on the Canadian ferry. You can see the  symbol on all the national flags that used to be British colonies! The prosperity of a country depends not on the population, yet on the minds, but also on the technology and humanity that the mind translates into! Western culture will not hide the weapon, so if you can defeat him in the military, he will serve you! It』s not like China』s twilight conceal. So it』s a good fight! Europeans are more savage than Americans, and they are deep, complicated, sophisticated, poisoned. Let's leave a bit of a opening and let them send out the bad habits, just like in some Nordic countries, you can put porn movies in late evening to reduce the crime rate of rape! personal opinion.
