道德經 第五十九章 禍福

其政悶悶，其民淳淳。

其政察察，其民缺缺。

禍兮福之所倚；福兮禍之所伏。

孰知其極，其無正也。正復為奇，善復為妖。

人之迷，其日固久。

是以聖人方而不割，廉而不劌，

直而不肆，光而不耀。

【現代簡義解析】

如果政策緩慢和諧，那麼人民生活淳樸安逸。

如果政策匆促苛刻，那麼人民生活缺這缺那。

災禍呀，幸福常常依傍在其邊上；幸福呀，災禍常常潛伏在其裡面。

誰知道他們的終極，他們之間也沒有正中。正中又變為偏離，善良的又變為妖害的。

人們受這樣的迷惑，已經很久遠了。

所以聰明人公正而不生硬，廉潔而不妨他人。

直爽而不放肆，風光而炫耀。

If the decrees are harmony, the people live in comfort.

If the decrees are harsh, people live in hardness.

In a disaster, there is usually a fortune attaching at it side. In a fortune, there is usually a disaster hiding inside.

Who knows the end? There is no center position either. The center position then move to side again. The goodness turns to be the badness.

People are confused by these for very long time.

Therefore, the wise person is honest but never hurt other people. He is incorruptible but not impair other people. He is straight but not presumptuous.

He is bright but not dazzling.
