「It was a great opportunity for all families to come and experience the Boeing production lines close up, walking around the factory floors. We would whole heartedly like to thank Boeing and all volunteers involved for organising this great event. It will remain in our memories forever,」 said BJ Shah, event attendee.
Attendees had plenty to see in addition to the production areas where 747, 767, 777 and 787 wide body airplanes are built. The festivities included live entertainment by employees, children』s activities hosted by Radio Disney, an overhead cranes display and airplane displays – a 787 Dreamliner – on the tarmac in front of the factory as well as the 747-8 Freighter, 787 Dreamlifter and a 777 on the flightline.
Below are some interesting facts about this year』s event:
· More than 17,000 prizes were handed out at the children』s area
· 5,000 children received Boeing fire hats
· 60,000 bottles of water were given away, the equivalent of 9,046 gallons of water
· 30,000 cans of Izze Sparkling Juice were handed out
· 8,160 pounds of hot dogs, 952 pounds of relish, 114 gallons of ketchup and 4,180 pounds of chips were served
· Leftover food was donated to local food banks
