上星期二的中午收到女兒的一條簡訊:「 math 100, history 98, English 95 good news, I』ll be MC for the graduation.」我回信「that』s my girl」。

My dearest daughter,
Watching you standing on the stage, your beautiful long waved hair flowing down naturally; your royal blue one shoulder dress makes your bronzed summer skin glow, and you looked absolutely amazing! You have no idea how much happiness you truly bring, and how proud I am of you.
It seems yesterday that I was counting your ten little finger and ten little toes. From the minute I saw your little face, I was in love. But today you are tall and beautiful; you are hosting the Junior High school』s Graduation ceremony! I still cannot believe that confidence, funny girl who stands in front of 700 people is my little girl. Yes, baby, you are my first born and will always hold a very special part of my heart. Having you was one of the happiest days of my life and no matter how old you get, I will always think of you as my little girl.
My sweetest girl, I love you more than words can express. Remember all that mother-daughter dates we had? The High-tea party, the donut shop, the matching Cinnamon Girl dress…We had our talks, jokes, laughter, and tears, and I』m so grateful that you trust me with all your problems, whether it』s girl』s problems or boy』s problems. I want to let you know how much I enjoy those moments with you. I know there are times I joked too much, even times to make fun of you and hurt your feelings, but you know deep in my heart, I love every single moment we share. I』ll continue to teach you to love, care, and respect, and you will be disciplined if you break the rules and value of responsibilities because Mommy wants you to be the best you can be. I』ll try not push you to be number 1 in everything (I said I』ll try), that』s because in my heart, you already are number 1. I know we are going to disagree on many things since you are an annoying teenager now, but I also know you are a smart, mature and responsible girl who will make right decisions. I trust you, yes, I do.
Before becoming a mother I had a hundred theories on how to bring up children. Now I have only one: love them, because I am blessed with you. You help me to remember all the blessings that I have, and I know that you are so much more than just my baby girl. I am so grateful to God for he gave me the best daughter anyone could ask. Thank you and Congratulations.
Love ya,
Mommy on your graduation day
p.s. I want to shout to the world that』s my girl when you did your crazy dance with your friends in that Mexican restaurant under the moonlight. Girl, you are the one of kind!
