常用英語短句 - 客套語

任何語言都有它的獨特表達方式或習慣用法。在日常生活使用不恰當的語言方式，小則導致誤解，或讓人在背後把我們當笑柄，大則在事業上產生負面影響。這些不恰當表達方式帶來的尷尬，通常是從百分之百正確的中文表達方式直譯來的。

下面介紹一些常用短句的北美習慣用法：

1. 你好！

行：Hello.

對（正式）：How are you?

對（對朋友）：How』s it going? 或 How goes it?

注意：要是人家對你說 How』s it going? 你的答案應該是 great! 或 not bad 或 so so 或 okay. 不必作進一步解釋。這是一句客套話，"it" 沒有什麼具體的含義。千萬不要回答 How is WHAT going?

2. 喂！ （接電話時）

對：Hello.

3. 你要什麼？ 或  你想要什麼？

錯：What do you want?

這可能冒犯聽者的一句話我在華人超市常有聽到。What do you want?! 對西方人是不客氣的一句話。習慣的說法是：

對：What would you like?

對：What can/may I get for you?  （對上司/顧客要用 may）

對：How can/may I help you?

4. 你喝咖啡加糖嗎？

行：Do you add sugar to coffee?

對:  How do you take/like your coffee?

5. 幾點了？

行：What time is it?

對：What』s the time please?

對：Could I have the time please?

對：Do you have the time?

6. 今天晚上，昨天晚上，明天晚上

錯：This night, Yesterday night. Next day night

對：Tonight, Last night, Tomorrow night

7. 你說什麼？我聽不懂。我聽不清楚。

錯：What did you say?

對：I beg you pardon?

對：Pardon me?

8. 我請客

對：It』s on my tab.

對：It』s on me today.

對：Let me get that.

9. 買單

錯：How much is it?

對：How much do I owe you?  （街頭語）

對：Could I/we have the check please?

10. 發票

對：Could I have a receipt please?

11. 請讓路

錯：Please move.

對：Excuse me please.

12. 別客氣！

錯：No problem.

對：Not at all.

對：You』re very welcome.

對：It』s nothing.

對：Anytime!

對：It』s my pleasure.

13. 麻煩你

錯：Can you/Will you …

對：Would you mind (helping me out/holding the door/等等)

對：Could you…

Would you 和 could you 是較有禮貌的說法。

14. 好！沒問題。 隨時奉陪。

錯：Okay.

對：Sure thing 或 Tell me when.

15. 小聲點行嗎？

對：Would you mind making less noise?

16. 下大雨了。

錯：The rain is heavy.

對：It』s pouring.

對：It』s pouring rain.

17. 替我向大家問好。

對：Say hello to everybody for me.

對：Please send my love/regards to everyone.
