As the Ukrainian advance into Kursk enters
it's second week, we're seeing a change in how that battle is unfolding. Early
on, Ukraine was facing mostly cons**ts and border guards but recently,
experienced units have been moved in to try to stop their advance. The 810th
Guards Marine Brigade was one of those and in today's video we review their
comments on the operation so far and look at two ambushes they say they've
conducted.
The tactic of wandering
around until you successfully draw fire is kinda crazy
they need to stabilise the
advance and let Russians try to break their defences and/or tacticaly retreat
when necessary so they don't lose so much equipment and manpower.
This is really useful
commentary - well-informed and balanced. That's why I subscribe here and not to
some of the politically-driven channels and often just speculate wildly.
The 810th is the 」evil twin」
of the Ukrainian 36th Marines, since it was formed mainly from Ukrainian
marines defecting during the invasion of Crimea (the marines not defecting
eventually formed the 36th). Many of which are still serving, ten years later.
As always, i appreciate the
information your videos put out. Thanks, and keep up the great work
Always look forward to these
videos, the unbiased opinions and evaluations are always welcome.
Ukrainian Armed Forces units
are being withdrawn from Donetsk Oblast, leaving entire strips of the front to
their fate. the occupation of Pokrovsk is a matter of the near future,
and Toretsk is living out its last days.
it's hard to extrapolate one
experience to all the great scheme of this battle
Successful ambushes are common
during an exploitation phase when units are running willy nilly to gain
undefended spaces and objectives. The Russian Marines just caught a light UA
recon force in exploitation phase with its guard down, nothing special.
Russia also ambushed their
own Convoy. Russia is attacking anything that moves due to broken chain of
command and communications.
Those were light armored
scout vehicles.
I no longer take anything
from Russian with a grain of salt, but an entire silo. Of course, Ukraine is not
some magical source of truth either
These are formations that
haven't been on the line pushing through Ukraine defenses. Ukraine needs their
brigade on the line they're desperate though so they made a stupid decision
Brilliant analysis.
if you are in another
country you will get ambushed every now and then. Ukraine likely expected more
resistance and didn't expect to get so far into russia.
I wonder if this Kursk
interdiction won't result in a salient where the Russians cut off Ukrainian
forces & decimate Ukrainian forces or force them to surrender
Russia doesn』t have Marines.
They have Naval Infantry.
after 10 years of this
conflict, Ukraine's military would have learned how to move troops without
exposing themselves to simple attacks like this.
the 810th participated in
seizing crimea back in 2014, and there were ukrainian units that switched sides
to the russians back then, but nothing about forming a new brigade from them.
Whilst the entire 1,300 km
Front in Donbas is collapsing. The entire Kursk operation hasn't forced Russian
transfers but has stripped Ukrainian soldiers from the Donbas and accelerated
the last dwindling supply of Ukraine's most trained and motivated soldiers.
Ukraine basically
sacrificing it's best trained troops in Kursk, while eastern front falling
apart under Russian offensive. Strategical mistake by Zelensky.
Call this war what it is and
stop the hypocrisy. It's Russia against NATO and not Ukraine.
The Kursk incursion was NOT
a surprise. Russian forces had seen the Ukrainian buildup and accurately
predicted a Ukrainian incursion.
it seems the Ukrainians did
achieve some level of operational surprise. Why? Several possible explanations:
1. Over-confident Russian military leadership who under-estimated Ukrainian
capabilities? 2. Maybe they knew the incursion was coming, but thought it would
be later and were surprised by how quickly the Ukrainians got moving and kept
moving? 3. Maybe it』s a sort of trap? The Russian high command is clearly
focused on capturing the Southern Donbas. Maybe they』re happy to let the
Ukrainians waste some of their best troops capturing some meaningless rural
villages in Kursk and are just holding them there while the main Russian push
goes on in the Donbas.
going in an ambush knowing
that surviving especially if vehicle is damaged is almost slim to nun, it is a
flat field, field with enemy soldiers, with drones, good optics, armored
vehicles, also drones with bombs flying everywhere.
