假如過去你有情謙讓,這並不等於這種行為是合理的。比如很多年前,我開車去中國店買東西,停車,下車,旁邊印度人夫妻(看上去)找來了,說我小孩下車開門碰了他們的車,我沒聽到什麼碰撞聲音,我檢查一下對方的車也看不出碰撞痕迹。對方喋喋不休,要怎麼樣?我有保險不可能自己賠錢,要賠也是保險公司的事。可是沒有碰撞為什麼要麻煩保險公司?沒看到撞痕就要賠,我們家的車停在擁擠的火車站停車場撞痕幾十個找誰賠?這兩個壞蛋糾纏不清,我只好打911找警察了,剛打電話他們就嚇跑了。一對印度渾蛋。
當然,那件事談不上有情無情,也許一件事有一件事的理性做法,接近理性,海闊天空。
但是,通脹時代,或者任何壞時代,非理性,無情,甚至邪惡的舉動就會多起來。像中國的窮省貴州的一個小地方政府,讓承包商建了工程,欠款承包商上億元,承包商和律師追討欠款,還被以尋釁滋事罪逮捕,邪惡之大,莫過如此。
通脹時代壞時代的無情隨處可見。比如你到Costco買雞腿,以前的雞腿連著大腿的部分很多,就是肉多骨頭少,現在只剩可憐的小腿了,令人厭惡,我肯定會少買這種做了腿腳的雞腿。還有Papa John,現在在網上定購比薩餅還要小費,雖然不是強迫的,但是我看到這一欄就放棄定購了。來回跑二十分鐘,花二十元另加小費和汽油費,相比之下我一頓飯花上十美元也自己做完吃完了,並且不是垃圾食品。
更可惡的建築商草草了事,按照要求,認為屬於保修的範圍之類的事他們竟然推諉不修。我就遇到,憤怒,寫了這樣一個簡短的email:

XXXXX(開發商) should not dismiss so much responsibility to the customers after they have not finished the job properly. The day before closing, the house was dirty, they cleaned in the morning of the closing day, they just put back window screens improperly.
