In the late 1950s, psychologist Milton Rokeach was gripped by an eccentric plan. He gathered three psychiatric patients, each with the delusion that they were Jesus Christ, to live together for two years in Ypsilanti State Hospital to see if their beliefs would change.


The early meetings were stormy. "You oughta worship me, I'll tell you that!" one of the Christs yelled.


"I will not worship you! You're a creature! You better live your own life and wake up to the facts!" another snapped back.


"No two men are Jesus Christs. … I am the Good Lord!" the third interjected, barely concealing his anger.

得，看完了，不是好玩兒的故事啊。不過我不很同意這個書評的結論，理性虛無的感覺。

那三個耶穌其實就是精神病，寫這個書評的太悲觀。那個 psychologist的研究確實不符合倫理。

well，儘管是有些虛無，但還是有ground truth的。至少這個研究發現，有些精神病人是不可能從類似的病例中判斷出自己的病態的，即使他們可以把「上帝的兒子只有一個」這個原則運用得很好，但他們不會用在自己身上。
