奈及利亞是個不平靜的國家。北部，宗教矛盾困擾，像幽靈一樣揮之不去。南部，石油成罪惡之源，像潘朵拉魔匣釋放出無數惡魔。前者，伊斯蘭教徒為純潔信眾的心靈，竭盡全力反西方文化污染（Education is sin）。後者，Delta州的MEND為得到石油福利和促進發展，竭盡全力反政府貪腐。他們都端起刀槍，都搞得血流成河。政府怎麼辦？對北部，高壓政策，派警察派部隊。宵禁，逮捕，送交法庭（大棒政策）。對南部，懷柔政策，給政策給銀子。講和，大赦，按人頭派送鈔票（胡蘿蔔政策）。

尼國《今日報》報道：2009年7月27日，包奇州發生穆斯林極端分子襲擊警所事件。（因要求純潔Sharia』h (Islamic law)反對西方文化污染而與警方發生激烈衝突）死150人傷近百人。去年11月在喬斯發生激烈宗教衝突導致約700人死亡。7月28和29日，衝突蔓延到卡諾、諾爾儂、育倍兒和貢倍兒等5州。對此，總統緊急任命警方高官全權處理此事，調動警察和軍隊趕奔動亂區域彈壓。

尼國《衛報》報道：2009年7月20日，總統大赦Delta州的MEND武裝分子10，000人，並將每月支付每人65，000奈拉。就在大赦前一天，MEND還炸毀拉各斯附近的油罐設施，但政府以德報怨還是釋放了MEND頭目。（也不知道總統這樣的政策會不會得到善意回報呢？）

從網民的評論看或許不會有效。如：Anthony Igwe, APGA, Oguta, Imo State：It also underscores the government failure to understand the main issue that has created the agitation. MEND is not asking for handout. The young men and women who are in this struggle want a better future for themselves and posterity. These young men and women want to know why the oil money coming from their areas are not used to fix the environment, create jobs, provide livable conditions for the citizens of the area.

I don\'t know those people who give advice to our government. The idea of giving N65,000.00 every month to each militant is irrational. For how long will this money be given to them? I am very sure that it will not last for a year before the government stops the payment. Instead of this irrational monthly payment, why can\'t our government in conjuction with the oil companies develop the area with good jobs and infrastructural facilities so as to alleviate the suffering of general population of Niger deltans? This irrational monthly payment is a temporary solution to a permanent problem. The only lasting solution is to develop Niger Delta. Many of these militants are not after money. They are after the well being of their people.

不明白宗教和石油怎麼就能將芸芸眾生弄得神魂顛倒，他們忘記人生真正意義，只受到邪惡私慾的驅使。回過頭來，中國如何呢？通鋼事件屬於什麼問題，根源在哪裡呢？希望中國不與尼國一樣，清楚根源卻也解決不了啊。
