                  Going to the Cloud
 
自從公司翻身以來， 一系列的項目接踵而來。由於過去五年的經濟狀況， 公司幾乎沒有向
IT投任何錢財。就像前CIO所說，我們IT是一條大船，只要能在水面上浮著， 就是成功的。 於是， 我們拚著死力在水面上浮了五年。
 
如今， 有錢了， 上項目了。一下子全來了。於是我們就叫這些項目：Going to the Cloud。在過道里，也常常聽到公司員工們互相問，『Are you on the cloud'? 真讓我忍俊不禁。
 
最先是Outlook Migration. 開始本是要用Google Mail的. 可Google在大陸失利， 公司為了本身的利益，全面轉向微軟。和Google合作了半天，以不了而了終結。(https://big5.backchina.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=255958&do=blog&id=61333)
 
接下來是 Office Communicator. 又一個微軟產品。
 
要知道，微軟幾年前就改變了其政策。上它的產品就意味為它測試。邊改邊上。
 
兩個項目下來，不知挨了多少公司員工的埋怨。頂著頭，忍下來了。
 
緊接著， 又是幾個微軟項目， Sharepoint 2010, Office 2010, IE8...
這一下又不知要花費多少精力。雖然微軟成了咱的Level 3 Support, 可咱還得在第一線頂著。
 
同時， 又有一個什麼Virtual Desktop.氣得咱跑到Chief Architect的辦公室里大發牢騷。牢騷歸牢騷。 活還是得干呀。
 
也不知道， 咱上了雲彩上面， 是不是就可以呼風喚雨了？？？！！！

get rid of m$, try vmware, i heard it is better...

well, i don't use any of them...
we have vmware on the hosting side which we have done earlier this year.  The sequence is Hosting, Network, and then EUC which is the last piece and impacts to the users directly.

like a typical "MS product", you know: good at RAD, excites your end users and encourage them to raise more requirements; and then when you work on those "advanced requirements", you prefer never having used this fancy product...

haha, get used to it... When we migrated to Outlook 2007, my users asked me if they could switch back to Outlook 2003...

Change is not always better... People like to curve in the comfort zone...

Change is not always better. ...
yeah, you are right. I just don't like the way MS pushes us.
Anyway, I do need to learn more on SharePoint2010 and have to use it.
