- snortbsd: igot nuvi 1490t with $100 off.. good deal?我不懂GPS，買這一個是今年假日要出去玩，到外地可能有用，不知道那個好，我只要個便宜一點，好用就好。我查了一下我買的，已是最低價，再給我 20%，就很好了。你查查你這個是不是已是最低價了，盡量讓這 20%是額外的，那就肯定是好 Deal 了

I have used one in my hand-held GPS device. The problem with it is that the government forced digital map producers to embed an distortion algorithm into the map to make it very inaccurate, +/- 10 meters sometimes! For instance, when I was hiking in Huangshan, you could see that they were off by few metres here and there (by checking with the actual coordinates). I heard the ones sold in China do not have this distortions. I couldn't verify that claim.

- snortbsd: +/- 10 meters, pretty much was the standard here....In theory it can be +/- 10 meters for commercial GPS. But it's generally within a meter or even better.
