警察因為她不說英文而給了她一張罰單
DALLAS — A Dallas woman who got a ticket in part for being a 「non-English-speaking driver」 says she wants a deeper investigation and to be reimbursed for a $5,000 hospital stay.
Ernestina Mondragon told reporters on Sunday that she wants a bigger apology beyond the one Police Chief David Kunkle issued for the Oct. 2 incident, in which a rookie officer gave her a ticket for not speaking English. She was also cited for making an illegal U-turn and failing to carry her drivers license.
Mondragon said she speaks limited English.
Dallas-Fort Worth station KXAS-TV reports the woman and her attorney, Domingo Garcia, are filing a complaint.
Kunkle said officers have improperly cited drivers for not being able to speak English 38 times in the past three years.
