我對音樂會的印象開始於上個世紀末的托福考試,因為托福聽力考題中總有關於音樂會的話題,而答案永遠是對音樂會的肯定和讚揚,所以即使聽不懂也能答對,可見音樂會具有很強的正能量。
移民後由於女兒喜歡音樂,多年來,我參加過無數的音樂會,有家庭的,教會的,慈善的,紀念的,娛樂的,小學的,初中的,高中的,本科的,碩士的。最近還參加了女兒博士畢業的鋼琴演奏會,這是女兒的最後一次考試,也是決定女兒能否畢業的小型考核音樂會。儘管時間安排在晚上9點半,11點多才結束,可還是來了許多人來捧場,我擔心咳嗽會影響演奏,於是坐在後排,發現女兒房東夫婦也來了,我也沒咳嗽,真是意外。中場休息時,我旁邊的一位華人觀眾主動和我聊天,原來他是我女兒的學生,在學校做博士后研究,幾年前他主動想學彈鋼琴,於是在學校廣告上找老師,他很喜歡我女兒的教學方式,還想繼續學習,特意同他的女友一起前來捧場,音樂會結束后還擔心去不了後台,將一束鮮花托我轉交,我說你們可以去的,結果還在後台合影留念。大家都很高興,音樂會十分完美,令人難忘!


在西方,各種形式的音樂會已形成一種文化,一種由家長,社會共同支持,鼓勵孩子學習音樂的文化,是對演奏者的欣賞和認可。在各類學校都受到很高的重視,我昨晚還參加了一個中學的春季音樂會,原因是女兒給合唱團鋼琴伴奏。節目持續近2個小時,有不同年級的樂隊演奏,交響音樂,室內音樂及大合唱。有個曲目叫非洲夢(African Dream) 講的是有個老師在非洲用廢垃圾當成樂器組成樂隊的感人故事。節目單里還列舉了學習音樂的20個好處(附后)。



我曾在國內上學,工作多年,對音樂會的記憶只有個別同學的獨唱和電視上的維也那新年音樂會,現在一定會好多了,因為家長普遍重視。
