Gay!
我:What?
兒:Love between two people of same gender – Gay.
我:You said that if I love my son, then I』m a gay?
兒:Well, maybe not for this case. But gay is love between same genders.
我:Speaking of gay – is there anything wrong with it?
兒:Of course! It is ridiculous!
我:How come? They do not harm others, and it is even legal in some states.
兒:Yeah, maybe it is legal in one or two states, but it is so weird.
我:I think Gays are just mentally handicapped – we should not discriminate them.
兒:What do you mean by mentally handicapped?
我:It is similar to physically handicapped. Do you know what is physically handicapped?
兒:Yea, for example someone does not have legs or arms.
我:Right, they have some physical defects and they are different from others.
兒:I understand that, but what is MENTALLY handicapped? Can you give me an example?
我:Ok. For example, a Retarded person.
兒:A Retarded person can』t help but being that way. How come one can』t help but loving same sex?
我:That is what Gays say: They can』t help but being that way.
兒:I think that is ridiculous… and that must be a cover for something else.
我:Well, you are not a gay. So, you don』t understand what they think.
兒:True, but…
我:We should not discriminate physically handicapped people, right?
兒:Yea, we should respect them.
我:Same should be true for mentally handicapped people. Yes, they are abnormal… we may not like that… we may not feel that is the right way… but they do no harm to the society… therefore, we should not discriminate them… instead, we should tolerate them and feel sympathy for their feelings.
這時候車到家了,我們的對話也就終止了。
