尚德電力公司宣布：為配合其在北美地區快速增長的市場機會，決定在美國亞利桑那州鳳凰城建立一個30兆瓦的光伏組件製造工廠，並預計於2010年3季度開始生產。

公司董事長兼CEO施正榮介紹，把部分製造工廠設在離客戶更近的地方，有利於更好了解並快速響應當地客戶需求，同時通過優化原材料採購等措施，將減少遠程運輸時間、降低製造成本，從而降低尚德產品製造的能源消耗。

據悉，尚德公司決定把廠建在亞利桑那州鳳凰城，不僅是因為其在太陽能政策和研究方面的領導地位，而且當地商業環境支持鼓勵太陽能企業的發展。

Suntech will manufacture the solar panels in Arizona in order to reduce the cost of shipping cost from overseas.

Because of the PPA, it is better to use the panels made in the own country.
