"我想,一個學者「學」到需要安保人員保護的程度,一個賣書的「賣」到見讀者如臨大敵的地步,那麼這個學者「學」的東西一定有問題,這個書「賣」得也就沒有多大意思了。"
This is sheer bullshit!
Where do you normally find writers or scholars being attacked or even
threatened with death because of their political viewpoints? In Islamic radical countries or done by
Islamic extremists. It's not unusual for scholars to stir up controversies in
any countries, but it's only in a handful of
barbaric countries that controversial scholars will be physically assaulted. It seems to me that some
people in China are more interested in resorting to violence to settle
political or academic issues than engaging in meaningful debates. What a shame.
Yes, there's definitely something wrong with the
"scholar bashing" phenomenon, but instead of accusing of the
scholars, shall we take a closer look at the readers themselves? Come on, we
desperately need more tolerance for "diversity" and curb the worryingly growing popularity of "herd mentality」 and 「violence
complex」 among the Chinese youth.
