「另類事實」，總統顧問凱利安·康威使用的這個詞獲選2017耶魯年度名言第一名。

《耶魯年度名言》由耶魯法學院圖書館副館長弗萊德·夏皮羅編纂收集，這位語言學家著有《耶魯語錄 The Yale Book of Quotations》。

康威在被問及為什麼川普當時的新聞秘書肖恩·斯派塞 Sean Spicer 錯誤地描述了總統就職人群的規模時，使用了「另類事實 alternative facts」一詞。

「實際上我不得不限制川普相關辭彙，不然就全被他一個人包圓兒了」，夏皮羅說。
