漢譯趣味美國俚語（6，終）

本篇是字母「A」部分的最後一篇，比通常的「3段」要長一些，因為筆者計劃停止寫博一段時間，也不知什麼時候會繼續，所以乾脆把「A」結束掉。

學習活脫脫的美國大街上普通人講的英語。逗樂部分在漢譯，我起個頭，看看誰能譯的最溜，最傳神，最嚴絲合縫 （「信」，「達」便可，嚴復老的「雅」就不必了）。

Aim for the sky, Reach for the sky, Shoot for the sky

不及物動詞。樹立崇高目標

Shoot for the sky, son. Don』t settle for second best.

要弄就弄最好的，孩子，第二名啥的沒意思。

Set your sights high. Aim for the sky!

要把眼界放高，爭取做最好的！

Reach for the sky 也有「把手舉起來！」的意思，比如，強盜搶銀行時就會這麼喊

Okay, you guys, reach for the sky!

喂，都聽好了，把手給我舉起來！

The bank teller reached for the sky without having to be told.

銀行出納自己把手舉起來了。

Asshole

名詞（粗話，用起來小心）。

（1）肛門

He threatened to kick me in the asshole, or something like that, if I didn』t leave at once.

他威脅說要把我一屁股蹬出去，或做差不多那樣的事，如果我不馬上離開的話。

He had to tell the doctor about the pain in his asshole because he simply didn』t know any other word for it.

他只得對醫生說，他的屁眼疼，因為他實在不知道還有什麼詞可以用。

（2）討厭的傢伙

Shut up and get out. You asshole!

閉嘴，滾出去！你這狗娘養的！

Some days it seems like only the assholes got up, and everyone else stayed in bed.

有些天好象只有討厭的傻冒才起來，別人都在睡覺呢。

At loose ends

形容詞。緊張，焦慮，無聊

That silly man usually does the online chat whenever he』s at loose ends.

那傻傢伙無聊了就上網聊天。

She』s at loose ends on weekends.

她一到周末就變得百無聊賴。

Attic

名詞。腦袋

She』s just got nothing in the attic. That』s what』s wrong with her.

她腦子裡空空如也。她的問題就是這個。

He has an attic full of fear and resentment he needs to clean out before he will feel comfortable again.

他一腦袋恐懼和怨氣，他必須把這些除掉，不然過不安生。

Attitude-adjuster

名詞。警棍

The officer said he would bring order to the gathering with his attitude –adjuster.

那警察說，那個聚會，他會用警棍來維持秩序的。

The police officer had a black attitude-adjustor hanging from his belt, and I wasn』t going to argue with him.

那警察腰上別著個黑警棍，我不打算跟他爭。

Aunt Flo

名詞。月經

I am sorry to announce that Aunt Flo has come for a visit.

對不起，姐妹們，我來例假了。

It』s Aunt Flo again. She is such a pest.

真討厭，她又來例假了。
