River Rafting at Kern River

We went to river rafting at Kern River (upper) this weekend, it is not too far from orange county, about 46 miles east of Bakersfield. It is hot 103 degree but lots of water in the river.

 

Matthew is only 7 years old - so we set down for Double Lickities, most level 2 to 3 easy category. He had great time and want to come back. The water is high this year due to the heavy snow but we didn't fell into water at all.  I went to American river 10 years ago for category 4 and 5, which we fell out of boats many times.

 

I'm going to take him back in Sep again this year and when he is older, we will do the two day trip (including camping under the stars).
