我中學一位同學現在在上海為政府制定中小學的新的教學大綱. 他告訴我,現在中國政府將全世界各個國家的教學計劃,都進行了深入的考量,將引進許多新的教育理念,比如說創新能力,領導能力,分析解決問題的能力等等的培養,並參照別國的教學大綱,按照自己的國情,專門設計教學計劃在中小學中開課. 同時政府提供資金,為中小學生走出課堂到社會中去實踐,提供具體的運行和單位. 小學初中學生大多數在本地,而高中以後就可以在全國遊走實習和參觀了. 同時在設計課程中將課程模塊化,可以有不同的環節,每一個環節可以有很多的變化和選擇,這樣就提供了靈活性多樣性和創造性, 就不是幾億孩子同一課本的情形了.  那人才的背景就豐富而又多樣,有助於出各種人才. 可以看得出現在中國教育理念在進步,開始趕上時代,提供多樣性為市場,為現實社會,為將來人類進步服務了. 但是我還要說幾句. 中國有那麼多人口和那麼多的孩子,中國的發展需要很多各種各樣的人才,在中國的教學大綱覆蓋下培養出人才,是主流通識人才,而且年齡段是小學到高中. 首先, 有很多特殊的人才不包括在這個培養系統中,靠這樣子的一般課程是培養不出特殊人才的. 熟練掌握一門樂器尚有兩萬小時為前提,那要在某一行業培養頂尖專才,就需要高強度的課程訓練.  這些課程國外很多學校都有,比如說小學三年級開始學樂器,免費的,但沒有一個大音樂家是這樣培養出來的. 從小學開始孩子就學第二外語,沒見過一個孩子可以光靠學校上課可以精通一門語言的. 總之, 這樣的教學效果是要打折扣的. 有很多能力以及文化生活方面的事,是不能靠在學校學到的. 第二,這沒有包括從出生到小學階段,而真正決定一個孩子的天賦和性向的關鍵時刻,是在出生到小學這一個階段,尤其是藝術音樂語言體育方面的. 因為這個時候孩子的生理心理發展,可塑性吸收能力非常強的. 如果小孩子兩歲前學游泳,他在水下可以自動屏住呼吸,睜開雙眼,非常自如,如魚得水. 可是長大一點以後學游泳,孩子頭都不情願放在水裡. 我看見很多五歲以前鋼琴彈得很好的孩子,說實在話他們的樂感是在襁褓中培養的,高強度訓練不僅是從幼兒園時才開始的. 還有小孩子五歲以前學語言,根本不費吹灰之力的,誰教他,很自然看見誰就講誰的語言,比起長大以後學,就沒有那個語言的原始正宗味道了. 第三,按照課程,小孩子所接觸的大多數是當地的事物. 這些孩子本來就很熟悉,到高中才去外地,也還是同一個中國文化. 我帶Jackie去看克里姆林宮東正教聖女大教堂,去看梵蒂岡St Pedro天主教大教堂,去看米蘭科隆哥特式基督教堂,去看伊斯坦布爾的藍色清真寺,印度的泰姬陵,還有中國的石窟和遍布各地新建的大佛. 文化的東西要從小接觸才好!第四,這不包括高等教育和就業,可那才是重要的呢!這也不包括興趣愛好,人生多乏味呀.
