My atheist hero of all time, Madeline Murray O'Hair, claimed there are distinct types of atheists. I've posted this before, but new people might like reading it too.

Type #1. Atheist, but still respectful of religion, and it's traditions. Might even belong to a Unitarian Church for the social outlet. Could belong to esoteric New Age movements....

Type #2. Atheist, but a little less respectful of religion than Type #1. Type #2 relish in studying the bible, in order to use it against christians in debate! Type #2 atheists probably know more about the bible than many christians.

Type # 3. Atheist, that holds man's religions in contempt. Has no respect for any religious belief. Gets angered when religion arises in public spheres. Has too much hatred to approach reasonable dialog with believers.

Type #4. Atheist, but has evolved past hatred toward religion. Type #4 would never study the bible, or join a Unitarian Church. They also wouldn't be caught dead hating any religious thought. Still suspicious of religion, and ultimately somewhat defiant against religious/societal assimilation.

Type # 5. Atheist, but totally accepts the religious beliefs of others. Does not hold any religion in contempt. Does not belittle religious traditions. Holds a light hearted approach to christianity, and other religions. Non judgemental.

就是，不能把不同意基的籠統成為反基。有人是無神論者，有人是信佛信輪子什麼的，有本質差別。

在美國基督教是主流宗教，所以atheists基本上可以說是不信基督教的。不過這和反對基督教--Anti-Christianity--可能還是有所區別。

我覺得在第四和第五種之間，還應該有一種，就是他們並不仇恨宗教，但是積極地以事實來揭露宗教中不是真理，卻宣稱為真理的部分，並且對之進行理性的批判。像有名的無神論的「四駕馬車」都是如此。

那就是第2種無神論巴。也許屬於大多數科學家，他們對有沒有神不是太在乎，只是致力於科學研究。有發現和宗教衝突的地方只是置之一笑，仍然去教會，祈禱，。。。。文化基督徒，實質科學家。

所謂的新無神論者。代表人物你肯定比我還熟：英國生物學家理查德·道金斯、美國學者薩姆·哈里斯、美國塔夫里大學丹尼爾·丹尼特以及克里斯托弗·希欽斯，被學術界譽為「新無神論四騎士」。主要從科學的角度論證上帝的不存在。

嗯，如果說我這把年紀還有個把偶像的話，那就是Sam Harris，當然Dawkins年輕時候比較奶油小生挺Q的
