月餅獻給這些四隻腳的英雄們!
今天是中秋節,也是9/11十年紀念日後的第一天。今天收到了同事發給我的這組照片,很喜歡,很有意義,也很有啟發。在舉國上下痛悼9/11數千名遇難的平民百姓,數百名消防員,數十名警察的時候,又有多少人想到他們 - 四隻腳的英雄們。
下面這組照片是來自一位34歲的荷蘭攝影師Charlotte
Dumas的作品。這位攝影師橫跨美國的九個州,從得克薩斯州到馬里蘭州,拍下了這些當年參加9/11一百條搜救犬中的僅活著的12條。這些搜救犬的故事已經被編譯成書,名為《Retrieved》於上周五發行以紀念9/11十周年。在混亂的9/11恐怖襲擊后,100條忠實的搜救犬和他們勇敢的業主參加了9/11倖存者的搜救活動,10年後的今天,這位攝影師在她的書中告訴了我們這12條英雄狗狗的故事。
我想保留這組照片同時將他們獻給村中所有的寵物愛好者。這些英雄狗狗們的眼睛告訴了我們一切!今天,我也想把我喜歡吃的肉餡月餅送給他們,我最親愛的朋友!最後,也想把月餅獻給這位荷蘭攝影師,謝謝你沒有忘記他們,他們雖然不會說話,但心裡比誰都明白,誰愛他們!
01 Moxie, 13, from Winthrop, Massachusetts, arrived with her handler, Mark Aliberti, at the World Trade Center on the evening of September 11 and searched the site for eight days
02 Tara, 16, from Ipswich, Massachusetts, arrived at the World Trade Center on the night of the 11th. The dog and her handler Lee Prentiss were there for eight days
03 Kaiser, 12, pictured at home in Indianapolis, Indiana, was deployed to the World Trade Center on September 11 and searched tirelessly for people in the rubble
04 Bretagne and his owner Denise Corliss from Cypress, Texas, arrived at the site in New York on September 17, remaining there for ten days
05 Guinness, 15, from Highland, California, started work at the site with Sheila McKee on the morning of September 13 and was deployed at the site for 11 days
06 Merlyn and his handler Matt Claussen were deployed to Ground Zero on September 24, working the night shift for five days
07 Red, 11, from Annapolis, Maryland, went with Heather Roche to the Pentagon from September 16 until the 27 as part of the Bay Area Recovery Canines
09 Abigail, above, was deployed on the evening of September 17, searching for 10 days while Tuff arrived in New York at 11:00 pm on the day of attack to start working early the next day
10 Handler Julie Noyes and Hoke were deployed to the World Trade Center from their home in Denver on September 24 and searched for five days
11-12 Scout and another unknown dog lie among the rubble at Ground Zero, just two of nearly 100 search and rescue animals who helped to search for survivors
